3rd Round of Vision Restoration for elderly from Karahal (Sheopur)

On 3rd Feb, a group of 70 persons were taken by bus to Sadguru (Ranchhoddas) Seva Sangh Trust Hospital at Anandpur 250 km away (which included 54 elderly, 12 of their family attendants, and 4 of our sevavratees as coordinators). The group stayed for 2 days. 40 of them had their cataract surgeries done, 13 others were precribed medication and spectacles, and for one unfortunately no treatment was possible. We will be making this a weekly exercise and send at least 50 elderly for vision restoration every week from our field villages. This has been marked as a key ancillary activity using the Seva Kutir platform which is now in 235 villages across 7 districts in MP. We will thus have vision restoration for at least 2000 elderly in 2021. Last week we have also launched our Seva Kutirs in seventh district of Vidisha where we have started centres in 4 villages (3 of them are sahariya community and one is sapera (snake-catcher) community). Hardly anyone has even gone to high school level from these villages.
