33 girls in Parivaar Sarada Teertha and 48 boys in Parivaar Vivekananda Sevashrama. This island has a very difficult access and one has go via Dhamakhali in a boat. We have done preliminary survey in 8 such islands in Sundarbans and plan to admit some 300 odd children in all from these islands in coming few months. Our highly dedicated volunteer Chandan Paul whom we have recently chosen for Parivaar Arise Awake Fellowship has done tremendous job in doing rigorous fieldwork in these areas. Chandan reminds one of the illustrious humanitarian tradition that has been so characteristic of Bengal. Attaching some pics.
