Sachin Tendulkar is sponsoring 5 of our Seva Kutirs in impoverished tribal areas in MP. These Kutirs having 560 children are in Sehore district. We are running 174 Seva Kutirs (meals and education centres) in MP at present, serving more than 16 thousand children. One Seva Kutir averages around Rs 12.5 Lacs, and the STF has donated Rs 62.5 Lacs for these centres for this year. We are soon starting operations in Khalwa block of Khandwa district (from where I am writing this post) where we hope to set up at least 50 centres by June 2021 (by then we are likely to have crossed 250 Seva Kutir centres). The Parivaar Seva Kutirs are being set in specially identified areas which rank very low in health indices like malnourishment, stuntedness, wastedness, anemia, and educationally low learning outcomes. Along with this we are setting up free residential campuses / hostels in each of the 5 districts in operation (they are already operational in one district, and under construction in 2 districts) – these will be modelled after our Bengal residential institutions which are Bengal’s largest free residential schools for destitute children.
