Our sevavratee team spent a week in Ilambazar block in Birbhum visiting more than 40 tribal villages. These are the areas from where we have taken 400 children into residential institutions. Our team studied conditions in these areas and listed vulnerable elderly and chidren. Also around 600 vulnerable elderly have been gifted blankets as a part of our winter relief. We were first introduced to this area by Sudip Majumdar founder of Nayantara Trust who has been working in this area for last 18 years. Sudipda who has been like an elder brother to me, devoted his life to servuce inspired by Vivekananda’s ideals. He have up a flourishing career as a tech professional after a stint in the US. He is one of most austere and simple persons I know and has built his organisation in the same mould.
I am back in Bengal after a road travel from MP through Chhatisgarh and Odisha.
